| European antimony market dull
BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Jun 08 ¨C Due to the high prices and forthcoming summer holiday, antimony
market in Europe is very quiet at the moment.
A European trader sold one container of 99.65%min standard grade two antimony ingot at USD6,400/t in
warehouse Rotterdam, and another one at USD6,500/t in warehouse Rotterdam for low bismuth material.
According to him, Chinese suppliers are not willing to lower prices for sales promotion, and he believes
price will keep stable in the coming days.
Another European trader sold a container 99.65%min standard grade two antimony ingot at around
USD6,330/t in warehouse Rotterdam, and the price from China is in the range of USD6,200-6,250/t CIF
Rotterdam. According to him, price for bismuth content lower than 100ppm is in the range of USD6,300-
6,350/t CIF Rotterdam.
The trader sees the current market is very quiet as summer is coming and price is too high for the
consumers to accept. "The major consumers are not buying in market, as they are most likely consuming
the stocks at the moment, and the smaller ones are only buying at the last minute," the source remarked.
The third European trader told Asian Metal that he had not sold any material this week, and Chinese are
offering at USD6,200/t CIF Rotterdam for 99.65%min regular grade two antimony ingot. According to him,
the price had slide from USD6,300/t CIF Rotterdam two weeks ago, and had kept stable since then. |
