Antimony market summary Jan 14-18

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Jan 08 - Antimony ingot price rises again in the week on slightly stronger demand. Antimony trioxide market,consequently, sees a significant price increase on account of higher price of antimony ingot, the raw material. Meanwhile, prompted by the continuous appreciation of RMB, suppliers lift the export quotations for both antimony ingot and antimony trioxide, though most buyers from international market would rather watch the market for a while than accept the increased price immediately.
Asianmetal(English) http://www.asianmetal.com PJ70 Major antimony ingot producers claimed that they received more inquiries and concluded a few deals at RMB38,600-38,800/t (USD5,317-5,344/t) ex works, RMB200-300/t (USD28-41/t) higher compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, small smelters in Lengshuijiang, Hunan Province also reported deals concluded at higher prices of RMB36,600-36,800/t (USD5,041-5,069/t) VAT excluded, RMB500-600/t (USD69-83/t) up from the level a week ago, and some of them have reportedly sold 99.9% antimony ingot at RMB37,000/t VAT excluded.

However, most producers said that most consumers find it difficult to accept prices higher than RMB35,500/t (USD4,890/t) ex works with the exception of material with famous brand.

Antimony ingot is generally offered at USD5,600-5,700/t CIF Rotterdam and USD4,850-4,950/t FOB for antimony trioxide, but few concluded deals have been reported. Meanwhile, antimony trioxide with Twinkling Star brand is being offered at USD5,000/t FOB.
