Antimony trioxide prices steady

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 Mar 07 – Antimony trioxide prices keep steady in China after the Spring Festival, though some producers quoting higher prices, market sources reported to Asian Metal.
A Guangdong-based producer reported that the antimony trioxide market remains unchanged compared to two weeks ago and informed that the company just sold some antimony trioxide 99.5% at around RMB36,800/t (USD4,755/t) ex works.
Some producers quote slightly higher prices after the Lunar New Year holiday as they did in the past years, but consumers seem to be unwilling to accept the increased prices. “Anyway, I feel the market is showing some signs of rising. Actually, the price of our most recent concluded deal is RMB200/t (USD26/t) higher than that before the holiday,” the source added.
A trader from Guangdong stated that the export market for antimony trioxide did not change much in the past month. “Prices for non-branded antimony trioxide should be around USD4,600/t FOB, but consumers are not keen on buying at the moment,” said the source, revealing that sporadic inquiries were received from overseas buyers and few deals were concluded during the past two weeks.
Meanwhile, market sources reported that Twinkling Star antimony trioxide is being offered at USD4,750/t FOB, USD50/t up in comparison with that before the Spring Festival. However, consumers seem to be not ready to accept such a high price.
