Antimony market unchanged

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 28 Nov 06 – Domestic antimony market remains unchanged over the past few days with limited deals concluded, market sources reported to Asian Metal today.
Antimony ingot with famous brand is still being offered at around RMB40,000-40,500/t ex works, but few deals have been reportedly concluded at such prices.
A Guangdong-based consumer reported that the antimony ingot market still keeps slack with prices remaining at its slightly downward trend.
The source revealed that some suppliers can offer RMB39,500/t ex works or lower prices for standard grade-two antimony ingot. “We have no intention of buying for the time being as we believe the price will decline further on weak demand in the following weeks,” said the source.
Commenting on remarks that antimony ingot market might edge up in the second half of Dec as suppliers can no longer get tax rebate after Dec 15, the source opines there is little possibility for the price to jump in view of the weakened demand.
Meanwhile, a trader from Shanghai revealed that antimony trioxide market remains comparatively stable as well. “We can sell at around RMB37,500/t for Twinkling Star antimony trioxide for orders of only 3 or 5 tons, but prices for materials without famous brand are far low such a price,” said the source.
