Antimony prices edge up in European market

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Nov 06 - With more demand in the European market, antimony prices rose from USD5,400-5,500/t to USD5,450-5,550/t in warehouse Rotterdam.
A UK trader told Asian Metal that he sold 20t antimony ingot with bismuth content lower than 100ppm at the price of USD5,550/t in warehouse Rotterdam.“We are offering at USD5,600/t now, and there are some consumers showing interest already,” said the trader.
According to him, the demand in European market is getting more, and price is moving up. “Price is definitely higher than last week. Price of standard grade two material is about USD50/t cheaper in warehouse Rotterdam.
Another trader claimed that the price of improved grade two antimony ingot is in the range of USD5,450-5,500/t in warehouse Rotterdam, “but some people are saying they are selling at something higher.” The demand is steady although there is no flooding buying. “We might see price moves up towards USD6,000/t, but we need more purchase in the market,” remarked.
As the antimony ingot price is getting higher, the antimony trioxide price is also moving up in the last few days. According to an antimony trioxide trader, the offers of the normal brands 99.5%min antimony trioxide is USD4,750-4,800/t in warehouse Rotterdam, and the price two weeks ago was at USD4,600-4,650/t. There is about USD150/t rise in the antimony trioxide price. Twinkling star antimony trioxide is USD50-100/t more expensive than the normal brands.
